Headache/Migraine Remedies

As you may or may not know, I've suffered from migraine with aura along with chronic migraines since the young age of 12, so naturally I have learned many remedies throughout my life and hopefully I can share some that can help you.

First, the obvious, water. Chug as much water as possible as headaches can often result from dehydration. Coconut water is another great option. If you are in a position where you can get in a dark, quiet, cool room, do so immediately. An eye mask can work great as well. It's also important to get whichever pain relief medicine (I take liquid ibuprofen capsules) as soon as possible so it can get to work. Vitamins I take everyday specifically for my migraines include b12, magnesium, b2 and also a b-multi. I put drops of Lavender and Frankincense oil all over my bed including my pillows. I will rub this Frankincense Toner all over my face as well. I take a towel and fold it once, long ways, and roll it up completely(pictured above) then place it under my neck while laying down. A cold towel across the forehead can also give relief. Another great remedy is pressure points. Press and massage the fleshy area between the thumb and the index finger, at the highest spot of the muscle when both the thumb and index finger are brought close together. I do this for one to two minutes, switching between hands. Lightly massaging your temples and head can also bring relief. Often, during a headache of migraine, we don't have appetites and can also feel nauseous but when possible I find that bananas are somewhat easy to get down while also benefiting the body with potassium to help with the headache/migraine. Fight the urge to turn on the TV or to get on your phone until the episode has passed. Try deep breathing and relaxation of the muscles instead. Caffeine is also something that is known to help certain individuals so I do recommend trying this route if you haven't done so already.

Anti-inflammatory diets are the absolute best for headache and migraine sufferers. Great anti inflammatory food include: beets, ginger, broccoli, turmeric, broccoli, pineapple, tomatoes, olive oil, spinach, kale, nuts, salmon, blueberries, cherries, oranges, coconut oil, chia seeds, flax seeds and bone broth.

Botox For Migraines is also something that I do that has helped with my migraines drastically. As always, this is something that everyone should speak to their doctor about before taking this specific route to find out if it's something that may benefit you personally.

If you have any other remedies that you would like to share, please comment below =)

SUMMER MUST HAVES

Chanel Soleil Tan De Bronzer. This bronzer is EVERYTHING. Hands down the best I've ever used. It's perfect for contouring and as a bronzer alone. It gives the perfect glow making it ideal for the summer. It is universal so it goes well on all skin colors. A little goes a very long way so the price is 100% justifiable.

Tom Ford Irina Sunglasses. My new obsession. These are my new go-to, everyday sunnies. They are so classic and chic! Summer must have, for.sure.

Becca Flower Child Blush. So pretty!! For perfect pink, glowing cheeks in the summertime, this is it. Pink cheeks are a must in the summer unless you want to look like you never see the sun. Hands down my favorite summer blush.

Becca Highlight Champagne Pop. I love this highlighter during the summer. I don't particularly care for the color during the other seasons but it's definitely a necessity for your summer glow routine.  Highlight in general is a must during summertime.

Hourglass Panoramic Long Wear Lip Liner- Eden. SO gorgeous with a tan. I wear this lip liner all over my lips. It's super creamy and long lasting.

Buxom Lip Cream- White Russian. This lipgloss has been around forever but it still remains a summer favorite of mine. It has a nice cool, plumping feeling on your lips while being super glossy and long-lasting. It goes perfect with Hourglass Eden, mentioned above.

Givenchy Dahlia Divin Skin Dew. & last but definitely not least...This is one of my all time favorite products ever. This is a  gel formula with the prettiest shimmer and has the best smell. This product makes all body types tone up and simply glow. I always get complements when I wear this. I wear it all over my body all summer long whether I'm in a bikini or in clothes. It's just the best, trust me. I always have backup of this product just to help with my anxiety. <-that's a joke

Hot/Not

Alien Spray- Mugler. I first received a sample of this which opted me to purchase this travel spray version. I really like this and love to leave it in my purse. Hot.

Daisy- Marc Jacobs. This is a popular fragrance that I just personally don't like on myself. It's not bad or anything, I just prefer others. Really cute packaging though! Not.

BlenderCleanser Solid. This is my all time favorite product to clean my beauty blenders with. I've tried many different ways when I didn't have this readily available and most of them were horrific fails. I will continue to purchase this as long as I use my beauty blenders. Hot.

Tatcha- Luminous Dewy Skin Mist. Call me crazy but the hype of this product was not found by me. I didn't notice a difference at all using this product, if anything it was just annoying as I'm always trying to avoid it getting in my hair. Spritzing water on my face is equal if not better than this product. Not.

L'Occitane Hand Cream- Shea Butter. Ok, I like the quality of this product as it's super creamy and leaves my hands soft but the shea butter scent was HORRIBLE. I have never tried any of the other scents so I cannot speak for all of them but I do not recommend this scent. It smells like baby powder or baby butt, so if that's your thing, then it's a great product. For me- Not.

Face Mask Reviews

Pathology Hydrate Flashmasque Facial Sheet Mask is definitely my favorite sheet mask I've tried thus far. It is SO hydrating and luxurious feeling, it's worth every penny. I find that it stays on very well until I'm ready to remove it while the mask is still left with a ton of product that I personally like to rub down and into my neck. Love.

Sephora Lotus Mask is nice mask and is less pricey compared to the other brands but sort of has a knock-off feeling. The sheet itself has a rougher/heavier feel to it vs the Pathology face mask sheets. I also find that it starts to fall off very quickly even though I can feel a lot of product left on the mask; it loses it's stick, quick. Although this mask does give me a nice glow and leaves my skin feeling renewed afterwards, I don't think I will repurchase as I just prefer other brands.

Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask is also a great one. I have repurchased this mask multiple times as it simply feels amazing and leaves my face extremely smooth. It gives a cooling and calming effect as well.

Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 Eye Mask is super luxurious! I love to use these right after I get out of the shower before doing my makeup. They are very moisturizing while helping your makeup to set flawlessly. They have a milky constancy that is extremely soothing! They stay on great and leave a bright glow underneath your eyes.

GlamGlow Gravity Mud Mask is, in my opinion, the chic-est looking mask I've ever used! It also has a nice, beachy scent to it. I noticed that it does take a ton of product to do a full face and to make sure the mask is thick enough to be peeled off, which is kind of a bummer considering how pricey it is. This mask left my face looking a littler smoother and firmer.

My Favorite Essential Oils

Lavender. Personally, I LOVE the smell of lavender. It's the most relaxing, pretty scent. I put lavender all over our house. It brings a calm and relaxing environment while also helping us get the best sleep.

Frankincense. I put this oil all over our bed every single night to help with my fiancé's concussions from riding and to help with my migraines. I also love the scent of this one.

Peppermint. I like to use this oil in our restrooms. It gives that spa feeling. It's also great during colds to help with stuffiness.

Eucalyptus. I LOVE the smell of Eucalyptus. It's so peaceful and relaxing which is why I put it everywhere. It is so luxurious during bath time, as it acts as a stress reliever.

Lemongrass. This one is great for when you need a boost of energy. It is also muscle easing and great for circulation.

There are SO many other essential oils out there, these are just some of my personal favorites to use around the house.

Here is where I've found the best quality and smelling essential oils. They also sell "blends" for whatever it is you may be looking for.
