Period Relief

Ok, boys, men, gentlemen, dudes....just trust me that you won't care to read past this point.

This one is for my ladies!
Today's post is about making that special time of the month as easy as possible ;). And by special I mean horrible, annoying, inconvenient, and everything else that falls into those categories. So hopefully you can find something within this post that helps make that time be a little easier for ya ;).

If you're anything like me, that "time of the month" is NEVER a walk in the park. Trust me, I've had it all. Heavy bleeding, 7 days, horrible horrible cramps, headaches, fatigue and everything else that comes with it.

I've found great relief from doing all of these...

Liquid Iron w/ Vitamin C- LOVE this combination. The brand I use is called Flora Flora Floravital Iron plus Herbs (I never noticed how weird the name was HA). I actually have blood tests to prove how amazing this stuff is. I always purchase mine on as they sell it at the best price. My periods have been so heavy in that past that they have caused me to be anemic so my OBGYN had me get on iron to bring me back to life and I started this specific combo, thanks to my fiancĂ©'s race doctor. I take the smallest sip every morning on an empty stomach along with a vitamin C chew tablet (can also find on Vitacost). I feel like a new person on this stuff; I no longer get that fatigue every month. This combination is seriously life changing!

Ibuprofen- I should be a spokesperson for this stuff. This one is self-explanatory. My OBGYN actually informed me that not only does this stuff help reduce the cramping pain but it also helps lighten the "flow". How amazing is that?! Love.

Raspberry Tea- Helps regulate the menstrual cycle while reducing cramps. & tastes fabulous. They call this tea, "women's tea". You can pretty much find this stuff anywhere they sell tea.

Diet- Reducing fat and increasing vegetables can ease the pain of menstrual cramps.

Warm Epsom Salt Bath (followed by a shower)- Uhh, just thinking about the amazing relief this brings. This is my favorite brand simply because the smell alone brings relief. If you suffer from menstrual cramps, this is just a necessity. Followed by a shower for obvious reasons (think, hygiene).

Heating Pad- This is another one for my girls who suffer from menstrual cramps. So much relief!

Stretching- Sometimes, simple stretches can bring some relief. Here's a great article with my favorite relief positions .

Health is the Greatest Wealth

Hey guys!

This post is a little different than my regular posts but it's way more important...

Health truly is the greatest wealth.
Look at Kim K & Kanye right now. This includes mental health. Kim was held at gunpoint and robbed in her own room while Kanye is now suffering from a mental breakdown. These two are possibly the most famous couple in the world yet BOTH of them are suffering from mental HEALTH issues that are REAL. They "have it all", right?! Wrong. You have NOTHING without your health.

How about Jaclyn Hill...
Possibly the most famous beauty guru in the world. Her husband recently suffered from a seizure that rocked their world in the worst way possible. To witness the one you love more than anything on the planet suffer is extremely traumatic and can really put things into perspective. None of this materialistic stuff really matters. None of these peoples comments or judgements towards us should effect OUR lives.

I really started thinking deeply about this last night when I came across a video that Megan Zipperer posted announcing to the world that she was 25 years old with cancer and was just told she had 6 months to a year to live. As I was watching her videos and reading her posts, I fell in love with her! She was the most positive, sweet girl, with a beautiful family including her husband and three children. I immediately began rooting for her and thinking about what I could do for her and her family. Without ever looking at the dates these videos were posted, I soon came across a post that stated Megan had lost her battle with cancer the night before and is now at peace; my heart dropped. What was once 6 months to a year was cut down to less than 2 months. I was completely heartbroken for her and her family. Nothing, NOTHING, is more important than your health, because without your health, you have nothing.
You can still donate to her family, if you'd like, here

"Health is the Greatest Wealth", is something that I've reminded myself every single day for a while now because of my fiancĂ©'s career. A single crash in this industry and everything can be taken away from you. We can be living the most fabulous life one second, and the next second have nothing. You can have everything you've ever dreamed of, but without your health you can't enjoy any of it.

Whether it be your physical or mental health, please understand how important it truly is. No one's situation is too small. Take care of yourself! If you need help, reach out!! <3

I love you all so much and hope you're having an amazing (healthy) day!!!

*Note, I totally get that there are thousands of horrific experiences taking place every single day, I'm just hoping to help people realize that life is nothing without health, regardless of who you are. I hope you understand the point I'm trying to get across <3
