Period Relief

Ok, boys, men, gentlemen, dudes....just trust me that you won't care to read past this point.

This one is for my ladies!
Today's post is about making that special time of the month as easy as possible ;). And by special I mean horrible, annoying, inconvenient, and everything else that falls into those categories. So hopefully you can find something within this post that helps make that time be a little easier for ya ;).

If you're anything like me, that "time of the month" is NEVER a walk in the park. Trust me, I've had it all. Heavy bleeding, 7 days, horrible horrible cramps, headaches, fatigue and everything else that comes with it.

I've found great relief from doing all of these...

Liquid Iron w/ Vitamin C- LOVE this combination. The brand I use is called Flora Flora Floravital Iron plus Herbs (I never noticed how weird the name was HA). I actually have blood tests to prove how amazing this stuff is. I always purchase mine on as they sell it at the best price. My periods have been so heavy in that past that they have caused me to be anemic so my OBGYN had me get on iron to bring me back to life and I started this specific combo, thanks to my fiancé's race doctor. I take the smallest sip every morning on an empty stomach along with a vitamin C chew tablet (can also find on Vitacost). I feel like a new person on this stuff; I no longer get that fatigue every month. This combination is seriously life changing!

Ibuprofen- I should be a spokesperson for this stuff. This one is self-explanatory. My OBGYN actually informed me that not only does this stuff help reduce the cramping pain but it also helps lighten the "flow". How amazing is that?! Love.

Raspberry Tea- Helps regulate the menstrual cycle while reducing cramps. & tastes fabulous. They call this tea, "women's tea". You can pretty much find this stuff anywhere they sell tea.

Diet- Reducing fat and increasing vegetables can ease the pain of menstrual cramps.

Warm Epsom Salt Bath (followed by a shower)- Uhh, just thinking about the amazing relief this brings. This is my favorite brand simply because the smell alone brings relief. If you suffer from menstrual cramps, this is just a necessity. Followed by a shower for obvious reasons (think, hygiene).

Heating Pad- This is another one for my girls who suffer from menstrual cramps. So much relief!

Stretching- Sometimes, simple stretches can bring some relief. Here's a great article with my favorite relief positions .
